The CEM and CESP are valid for five years after a candidate has met all the requirements of certification. Maintaining your CEM and CESP designations over time requires a continued dedication to lifelong learning and to AEMP's ethical standards. To renew your certification, you must complete 40 hours of continuing education during the five years your CEM/CESP is valid. AEMP provides continuing education through our conference events and our online Continuing Education subscription. We also accept other industry-related education/training in the 17 competency areas:
Applicants wishing to renew their CEM or CESP may download the CEM/CESP renewal form to track the education/training they complete. Details describing qualified training/education are provided on the renewal application.
Attendance at AEMP's Annual Connect conference (March) qualifies for 15 CE credits. Attendance at AEMP's EquipmentSHIFT conference (October) qualifies for 10 CE credits.
CEM/CESP renewal applicants can also count 1 CE credit per year of current membership in AEMP, 1 CE credit per year they volunteer on an AEMP committee or taskforce, and 2 CE credits for each hour of training/education they provide as AEMP conference speakers or article they write for Equipment Manager digital magazine or the AEMP Journal of Equipment Management. If you'd like to get involved as a member, volunteer, writer, or presenter, please email email@example.com.
Renewal of the CEM/CESP requires completing the CEM/CESP renewal form and payment of the $125 renewal fee for members and a $225 renewal fee for non-members prior to the expiration date of your current certification.
