Certified Equipment Support Professional (CESP)
The Certified Equipment Manager (CEM) designation is the only recognized standard for judging the qualifications of a heavy off-roadequipment manager or municipal/government fleet manager. It is an attainable goal for equipment managers who want to be identified as exceptional. To achieve this goal, it takes personal motivation and experience.
Applicants for the examination must meet the following criteria on the CEM application. The exam is not available online and must be taken at one of 2 annual AEMP meetings.
✓ A minimum five years’ experience in equipment maintenance and/or management is required.
✓ A minimum of 25 total points must be accumulated to qualify to sit for the exam.
✓ Minimum points must be accumulated in each of the Mandatory Requirements section, and points may be, but are not required, in the Optional Experiences section.
The CEFM Manual (PDF or hardcopy) is required to pursue the CEM. Recommended resources include: Level 1 courses and Level 2 online courses.

✓ A minimum five years’ experience in equipment supply or support is required.
✓ A minimum of 25 total points must be accumulated to qualify to sit for the exam.
